The Switzerland Trail

One of Boulder’s most classic and popular downhill bike routes, the Switzerland Trail is one of the city’s most beloved routes. Starting from the top of Boulder Canyon, riders dash down through forests, paved trails, dirt paths, and through the foothills of the Rockies. Along the way they pass through historical mining structures, a testament to Boulder’s mineral past, and among some of Boulder’s most classic avenues as the trail rides up through Boulder Canyon and onto Pearl Street, Boulder’s main shopping and entertainment district.

Hiking Royal Arch

Royal Arch is one of Boulder’s most classic trails, steadily climbing through Chautauqua Park to a magnificent sandstone arch high above the city. The trail is moderately challenging, starting by traversing just under the iconic Flatiron formations and then steady climbing past a dry creek bed and then up the hillside through a series of switchbacks, to a vantage point high above the city. The trail allows hikers to see the best of the Front Range around Boulder and experience one of the city’s most beloved hikes.

Rafting on the Upper Colorado

Experience one of Colorado’s wildest landscapes by rafting through the rugged canyons of the Upper Colorado River. This is one of the states most pristine wildernesses, with miles of plains stretching out to the mountains just two hours north of Boulder and Denver, red rock canyons with traces of the historical railroads, cliff jumping, hot springs, and the best fly fishing in Colorado. Depending on the season the rapids range from easy to moderate, which makes it fun for any age or ability, and during our trip, we’ll search for trout species native only to Colorado. The Upper Colorado is the states river life at it’s best with a relaxed cruise down the river with opportunities to get out and hike some of the nearby rock islands and banks, as well as fish in near total solitude. This is one trip not to be missed!
