I just wanted to drop you all a line and thank you for the awesome job you and your team did for our teambuilding event on Wednesday night. All the feedback I received was 100% positive!!
I am new to the team and it was my first highly visible project. Thanks for helping to make it a resounding success!
Please extend my appreciation to your team members!
I would love to get some pics as soon as possible to post to our team and corporate sites.

I really appreciated their service. I wanted to take my team on a hike and it was nice to talk before hand about how challenging it should be. They really picked the perfect hike for my team! Josh was great and easy to work with (as was his team). Yes, you can go hike on your own for free (I do all the time) but if you want a guide and somebody that knows the area this is perfect. Outstanding for company trips or inexperienced hikers. I highly reccomend Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides.
Our group at work had a business meeting for two days in our Boulder office last week. We decided to go to the mountains and found Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides on the internet.
With their stellar reviews, I reached out to them. It turned out this is one of the best group outings we have had. Josh and Joey were very professional and knowledgeable about the nature and kept us well informed during our 2-hour plus hike. They also brought us water, snacks, gloves, and hats just in case and we surely needed them because it was very cold with a flurry of snow in the mountains from time to time. We highly recommend Colorado Wilderness to everyone!

Half day hike was amazing! Christian, our guide was fantastic! She was very well prepared and she took good care of us. She allowed us to set our own pace as we got acclimated to the altitude. Not only was the hike beautifully scenic, it was also a great workout. Can’t wait to come back and do it again! Thanks!

I just wanted to thank you and your staff again for a great and meaningful event today at Eldorado Canyon State Park! I have received much more feedback throughout the day with regard to how challenging and enjoyable the course you all put on for us was. Many have commented that it is the best training event trip they have ever been on. The breathtaking scenery mixed with the physical and mental stimulus your course provided tested each and every participant with respect to both individual leadership and teamwork. I am certain that lessons learned will be carried forward and put to good use in both the professional and personal lives of all. I hope you and your organization find continued success in providing personal and professional growth experiences for others that choose to accept what you have to offer.
Please let me know a good address that I can send a few tokens of our appreciation to you and your staff. If I find myself in the Boulder area again or you happen to visit the mostly flat, but beautiful state of Indiana, let’s grab a drink. Take care and best of luck!

The “Chill Central” team will never forget the experience you gave us!

We booked a sight-seeing your, a mountain bike tour, and a zip line tour. Our guide, Jill was very knowledgeable in the areas of the equipment and where we traveled. Safety was ensured. I would book my adventures with them again.
We had a great family personalized trip with 7 people to the Rocky Mountain Park with Brad from Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides. I had injured myself a few weeks earlier so some of the tougher climbs we had to skip but Brad and team customized it for all of us to enjoy. We had ages from 9 to 72 on the trip and everyone had a great time. Happy to recommend this business!

Our company held our meeting in RMNP and it was amazing. Our guides made logistics and planning super easy which meant more time outside enjoying the park. Food was great and accommodated vegetarians 🙂 We did rock climbing, park volunteer service, a long hike, and fly fishing. SO FUN.

I contacted Colorado Wilderness after reading some great reviews on-line. After much discussion we decided to do the Amazing Race for 18 of my colleagues in Eldorado Canyon. The team did such activities as rock climbing, fill the bucket challenge, biking and a couple of other challenges that required communications. The team had a AWESOME time and are still talking about it 2 weeks later. Josh and his team were excellent and kept the team engaged.

Class-act organization, with real professionals leading the trip. They are a safety first organization, with intimate knowledge of the river, and most importantly, great, hands-on teachers as we were fly-fishing novices. No surprise Josh (the owner) has a deep background in athletics given his ability to articulate and teach form and technique. We will certainly use this company again, and would recommend them to anyone, especially those coming from out of town. They were perfectly communicative, and created a bespoke trip for us. Exactly what we wanted as we didn’t have any on-the-ground experience. Highly recommended.

Amazing, customized experience. Myself and my father were accompanied by Julie and Jill for a full day in Boulder Canyon. Julie picked us up from our hotel in downtown Denver and then we made the short drive to the Canyon. We were complete beginners so Jill explained all the equipment she had for us, took us up the rock and showed us how she set the ropes up and and then we started to climb! Everything was explained super well and we felt safe the whole time- there was always someone at the bottom belaying you and shouting up tips. We then headed out to a lake for lunch- sandwiches, fruit, chips, powerade (& beer) and then finished the day off with some traversing over rapids before getting driven back to the hotel.
Overall super cool experience and after it I’m really keen to do some more rock climbing and come back to do another tour with this company when I’m back in the country.
Also… they provide a ton of water/snacks AND take pictures of you that they provide to you via a link.

We have worked with CWRAG for two years in a row on a weekend-long camping/hiking/rock climbing trip for 40 young adults. Not only is their staff extremely organized, attentive, and knowledgeable about the outdoors and outdoor activities – but they are the most adaptive and people-oriented company that we work with. Every activity, meal, and logistical details was catered specifically to the needs and desires of our particular group.

Josh is the man. We connected 3-4 months prior to the hike and I asked him to put together an epic hiking experience as part of a mid-year leadership meeting. 4 AM pickup in Boulder and hiked 16 miles across Rocky Mountain National Park. Josh is a great leader, clearly a seasoned guide, and it was the highlight of our trip to CO. The client experience is something that Josh and his team value and they delivered from A-Z. We are already in talks for a trip back in 19′ to do a 14’er. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking to get out of their comfort zone and accomplish something big as a team.

I was so scared to take this rafting trip but it was probably one of the most fun, exhilarating things I’ve ever done. We had a party of 15 and every person was so glad they went. The guides were helpful and did a great job explaining what was needed to make the trip successful. I would highly recommend it.

Thank you Tom and Joey. The group had a great time and your guides were awesome. It was the highlight of our event in Boulder. Please extend my thanks to all involved for giving our VIPs your VIP treatment.
I hired Colorado Wilderness for 3 separate hiking adventures. I wanted a very specific hiking experience that included seeing a broad range of landscapes and challenging hiking terrain. Mike was great to deal with on the phone and he connected me with Joe who put together 3 perfect days. Joe knowledge of the area and experience with weather patterns ensured we maximized our time and provided diverse adventures. If you are not familiar with the area and want to make the most of your time in Colorado, I highly recommend CWR and Guides!

I used Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides for a large corporate event. They offered a great selection of tours and everyone came back raving about how much fun they had and how great the guides were. I will definitely recommend them to my colleagues for future events and will definitely book a tour with them next time I am in Boulder.
I arranged 3 excursions for our group- Hiking, Biking, and Sightseeing. We had about 40 people total attend. I did the biking trip and it was great. It was harder then I expected, but all worth it and we were all able to make it with the encouragement of Justin and Christian. I got feedback from the people in each group and overwhelmingly, EVERYONE had a wonderful experience. Each group’s guides really tailored the experience to those in attendance. I would highly recommend Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides to anyone looking to have a great time and experience something off the beaten path.
Guides Virginia, Brad, and Alex were awesome. They were a part of our group by the end of our retreat. Very knowledgeable and kind group.
Great working with Joey and Justin to help this group. I wish I had gotten to join the group to have even more feedback on the guides and experience. One thing I would do in the future is provide my own transportation for the group since we want our groups to have more of a sprinter than van with bench seats.

I recently planned an out-of-town retreat for a group of 70 attorneys and hired CWRAG to handle 3 separate activities including rock climbing, hiking and horseback riding. Attorneys are generally a hard-to-please group of people so CWRAG had quite the challenge on their hands and they rose to the occasion. Every group absolutely LOVED their afternoon and couldn’t have been more pleased with their guides and the overall experience.
From planning through completion, the entire group at CWRAG was pleasant and easy to work with in getting the details down. I personally was with the rock climbing group and having never really climbed before with a ‘healthy fear of heights’, one would think I might be terrified. However, the experience of all of our guides kept me feeling safe and confident enough to make several climbs and leave me wanting more.
For the experience our groups had, I would say that the pricing is a real value and would happily recommend this group to anyone interested in being active while the beautiful state of Colorado. Can’t wait to visit again and try something new…thanks CWRAG!

I hired Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides for hiking around Boulder, with the ultimate goal of hiking Pikes Peak. CWRAG developed a week long hiking program to train for length and elevation, and as a result, I had no problems with altitude sickness. The company also worked with me in the months before for a fitness program to help me prepare for my trip. Cindy was assigned as my guide, and she did a fantastic job of making certain that all the training hikes supported my goal of reaching the summit of Pikes Peak. Each of the training hikes were incredible experiences on their own. In the end, despite wind and icy trail conditions, Cindy and I summited Pikes Peak on Aug 4. Cindy was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we hiked, and about hiking itself, offering many tips and advice. She also reviewed all my gear prior to the first hike to ensure I had the proper equipment. And the night before the Pikes Peak hike, she went over the exact clothing I would wear, and what food I would be carrying. On all the hikes Cindy monitored my condition to make certain that I was staying hydrated and eating to keep up my energy. The office staff were also incredibly helpful and supportive. Everything went precisely as it should have, with no delays or mix-ups, even though I book this trip really early. It was an incredible experience.

These folks are awesome; they saved my trip! I had scheduled transportation to and from a trail head in RMNP with Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides for part of a trip I spent months planning. Well, the day before the pickup, a forecast for an October dumping of snow forced me to change plans. I was already traveling and had limited resources and time to re-plan this part of my trip. After a few telephone calls with Josh, the owner, he had helped me create an alternative itinerary that better fit with the snow storm. John, my driver the next morning, picked me up right from my hotel and helped me to comply with the Park’s winter season logistical changes that involved a little extra driving.
I could not have done all that last minute planning on my own and probably would have spent the next couple of nights in a motel in town had it not been for Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides. Instead, I was in the park, surrounded by elk, birds, and breathtaking views of snow covered landscape.
Two days and 15 inches of new snow latter, I’m picked up by Nick (and a really sweet black lab named Sam) right on time to get me back to Boulder to catch the bus to my next leg. On the way out, Nick was able to answer questions to help me identify much of the wild life I saw. I’m so glad I worked with them verses a plain old taxi or shuttle service. There is a huge advantage to working with a transportation company that is also a full-service wilderness guiding company.
I will definitely use them again. hopefully next summer.

My husband, two twentysomething daughters and I were in Boulder for a week last summer. Among the four of us we span a fair range of abilities and interests. Never having been there, we asked Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides to help us get to know the area — specifically by fishing, hiking and biking. They did a fantastic job of recommending which trips to take and our guide for all three days was a perfect match with our family. He was skilled and knowledgeable about a wide range of topics, he managed to keep all of us challenged without overdoing it on any of the trips, and he fit in well with our family’s sense of adventure and humor. I could not recommend them more highly — they are great!

“If you are planning a trip to Boulder Colorado, a day in the mountains with Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides [formerly Boulder Wilderness Shuttle] is sure to make it an absolutely wonderful experience. Through his many years of guiding, Joshua possesses a wealth of knowledge about the outdoors, which he enjoys sharing and teaching to others. He puts a maximum emphasis on safety as well as happiness of his clients. His staff was professional and arrived on time to pick us up as scheduled. The shuttle van was clean, comfortable, and we had maps and books with trail descriptions at our disposal. We would highly recommend Boulder Wilderness Shuttle to anyone interested in spending a memorable day in the mountains exploring the Colorado Rockies!”
“I really enjoyed my tour with Sonya of Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides. Me and my family went to Estes 2-3 weeks ago we thoroughly enjoyed the tour it was very educational. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is unfamiliar with the driving terrain or fear of driving at extremely high altitudes and hairpin turns on unpaved roads without barriers. I wanted my children to learn about mountains and how it plays into the eco system , trees and plants, micro organisms that grow in the snow. They learn about wild life. We were taught about how the Rocky Mountain National Park came into being. My children learned about how water ways are formed. Children learned and experienced the climate at high altitudes. By taking this tour, I learned more about the mountains than it just merely going to a mountains. By having a tour guide it added a lot of depth. My family would have otherwise not have had this experience had it not been for this service. I highly recommend it; it is worth it.

“Hello Joshua and Nick! I had a wonderful time on our hike from Bear Lake to Grand Lake! The scenery was beautiful and I enjoyed the physical aspect of the hike. I thought Nick did a super job and I appreciated the difficult spot he was in having one person off the back and one waaaaaaaaay off the front. In spite of this Nick kept his cool and I felt secure. You are both knowledgeable, personable and fun. I thought Nick did an amazing job cooking the steaks (even though I’m not a steak eater) on a trip like that. I know that was not the usual backpacking fare.
Our group debated how best to take this hike since most of them are very inexperienced or have never been backpacking and I didn’t have the confidence to take a group out where I’m not familiar with the area or hiking at altitude and that’s how you ended up with us. One thing that seemed to be the prevailing thread among them is they wanted to hike but didn’t want to carry heavy packs or cook (and they still don’t).
p.s. I’d love to do a bike trip with you all.”

The great dinner in Estes and seeing the Stanley was a perfect end to our long week in the seminar. Jan already has told everyone at home that she visited the stage of the Shining. We can not wait to visit you again when we return to Boulder!”

“We were so impressed on how much history about the area, weather, safety, plants, and animals we received. In such a short period of time, we really learned a lot. Thank you for giving me the hat off your head to make sure I was protected from sun at 3000 meters. Putting everything together so last minute was very fantastic. We will tell all the others attending events and training at NCAR and UCAR about you.>”
