Following the Outdoor Retailer Show, the first in Denver, Colorado Wilderness Corporate and Teams, an Outdoor Industry Association member, was proud to host the Outdoor Industry Association’s Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy at a team-building event in Estes Park. Named for Skip Yowell, the founder of backpack company JanSport, the academy helps to build skills for those who aspire to lead in the outdoor industry. Guides from Colorado Wilderness Corporate and Teams engaged in activities specially designed to promote leadership and teamwork, and build confidence in their abilities. On a blustery day in Estes Park, the team participated in several activities as part of an Experiential Leadership Amazing Race, afterwards reveling in the new connections they’d made and creating skills and memories that they’ll be able to take back with them.

Colorado Wilderness Corporate and Teams and Kaiser Permanente Support Boulder Underserved Kids by Building Bikes

As part of the community engagement program, Colorado Wilderness Corporate And Teams teamed up with Kaiser Permanente to challenge employees to build bikes for local underserved kids and build skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities. The Fuji bikes are going to be built in teams by Kaiser Employees and then donated directly to local underserved youth. This comes on the heels of Colorado Wilderness Corporate and Team’s drive for more events with altruistic purpose, and to better improve our outdoor spaces and our communities while building trust, teamwork, and leadership between employees. There is no limit to opportunities to engage with the community and we invite you to talk with us about how you can engage your team and help the community in one exciting event. Our theme was “O’ The Places You Will Go” and help inspire and improve the lives of our future youth leaders of tomorrow. More than 10 kids received new bikes, helmets, and inspirational books.
